After you click the SUBMIT button on an Application
Search screen (basic or advanced), the system scans the database
for any applications matching the search criteria, and lists
the matching applications on the Search Results screen. The
Search Results screen shows the file number, applicant name,
applicant FCC Registration Number (FRN), upfront payment,
application status, application type, and auction number for each application
returned in the search. The top of the Search Results screen
summarizes the search criteria you entered and indicates the
total number of application records returned in the search.
How the Results Are Displayed
For both a basic and advanced search the system uses different
sets of rules to arrange the results for display.
In a basic search, the system sorts
the applications by Applicant Name, in ascending order. It shows
up to 20 entries at a time.
In an advanced search, the system
sorts the applications based on the field you selected on
the Application Search screen's sorted by field.
Furthermore, it arranges the entries in that column in either
ascending or descending order, based on the setting of the
Application Search screen's order field. It shows
the number of entries you selected on the Application Search
screen's matches per page field.
