Advanced Auction Application Search

With an advanced search, you may enter search criteria into as many fields as you wish. However, note the following guidelines for entering search criteria.

Guidelines for Entering Search Criteria

  • You must enter search criteria into at least one field.

  • The system searches the database to find all applications that satisfy your search criteria.

  • Some fields, such as Legal Classification, have multiple check boxes, and generally you can check as many of these boxes as you want. When searching, the system will locate applications that satisfy any of these selections.

Search Fields

Following are descriptions of the entry fields on the search screen.

  • To select non-adjacent items, press the Ctrl key while clicking each list item.

If you don’t select any auctions, the system assumes you want all auctions considered.

Customize Your Results

The section at the bottom, Customize Your Results, has two radio buttons that let you specify how much information you want to type:

  • Selecting all matches (the default) allows you to type the beginning characters of your search target.

For example, typing jo for the last name part of the Authorized Bidder field will locate names starting with “Jo”, such as Johnson, Joseph, Jolson, and so on.

  • Selecting exact matches indicates that you want to type all characters of your search target.

For example, typing jacob for the last name part of the Authorized Bidder field will locate only occurrences of Jacob. It will not find Jacobs, Jacobsen, or other longer forms.

There are also fields that let you control the number of matches displayed on a page (10 is the default value) and how the results are to be sorted.

Starting the Search

Once you have set up your search criteria, click the SUBMIT button to start the search operation. The results of the search are displayed on the Search Results screen.

You can also click the RESET button to clear the search criteria entries from the search screen.
