The bottom of the screen provides a link that takes you to

Select the Auction

To select the auction to be searched, choose its number from the Search an Auction drop-down list

Select the Data Field

The left-hand data field is a drop-down list in which you specify how you want to search:

By File Number:   The FCC-assigned file number of the application.
By Applicant Name:   The name of the individual or business entity who filed the application.
By Applicant FRN:   The applicant's ten-digit FCC Registration Number (FRN) assigned by the Commission Registration System (CORES). The FRN is a unique entity identifier for everyone doing business with the Commission.
By Radio Service Code:   The two-letter radio service code of the license or construction permit.
By Market:   The six-character designator of the market served by the license or construction permit.
By Channel/Frequency block:   The one- or two-character designator of the channel or frequency block served by the license or construction permit.

Type the Search Data

In the right-hand field, type the data you want to find. The field is not case-sensitive; you can type uppercase or lowercase letters in any combination.

All Matches Versus Exact Matches

The radio buttons at the bottom specify how much information you want to type:

  • Selecting all matches (the default) allows you to type the beginning characters of your search target.

For example, selecting By Applicant Name on the left and typing jo on the right will locate names starting with “Jo”, such as Johnson, Joseph, Jolson, and so on.

  • Selecting exact matches indicates that you want to type all characters of your search target.

For example, selecting By Applicant Name on the left and typing jacob on the right will locate only occurrences of Jacob. It will not find Jacobs, Jacobsen, or other longer forms.

Starting the Search

Once you have set up your search criteria, click the SUBMIT button to start the search operation. The results of the search are displayed on the Search Results screen.
You can also click the RESET button to clear the search criteria entries from the search screen.
